THANK YOU...

THANK YOU to all who have kindly donated to help us along during this extremely trying time for everyone.

We have received such kindness even when we know so many are going through such a difficult and testing time themselves.
.
A simple Thank you never seems enough to express how humbled we all feel.
We hope you know us well enough to know just how grateful we are and our deepest concern is to continue to keep dogs safe and well. Our work goes on and we'll do all in our power to keep it going.

Thanks again everyone, we hope the updates, photos videos which go on to our facebook is also another way of showing our appreciation of your kindness.

Please take care and stay safe, we miss you and we're so looking forward to seeing you again as soon as the restrictions allow us to do so

LISA
CROSSBREED, FEMALE
APPROX 9 YEARS

We would like to introduce one of our newest arrivals Lisa, we now think she has made enough progress to start looking for her very own home. Lisa came in to us from another rescue where she has spent much of her life in a shelter, she also sadly had to have a leg amputated when she was younger so she has had to overcome and adapt to lots of new things both in her life and then coming to us.

When she first arrived she was pretty terrified, everything was new to her, she was scared to leave the safety of her crate on the transport over, she had no familiar faces or smells and was clearly overwhelmed by the change. A collar and lead of her own is something she has never known, sadly the joy of walking is something she missed out on as any pressure on the lead made her panic - So our job was to show her that 'Walkies' was a thing to get her tail wagging!

We have given Lisa lots of extra time and TLC, thankfully she soon realised she could put her trust in us and we only offered love and support - oh and lots of yummy treats!

We started off by having to sit in her kennel with her and let her become accustom to us, the new environment and routine. She became more inquisitive and started coming up to us, we were armed with her favourite treats which seemed to help - she loves her food! Once she was used to us, showing her no harm is going to come to her, she then learned that fuss and strokes are pretty good - it is clear that she hasn't known many kind hands.

Once she plucked up the courage to have a lead on we then explored the playpen, which she loved, she took it all in, lots of sniffing and pottering about and even came back to us when we called - once she had finished scoping out her new garden :)

Now she loves her walks, every opportunity to get out of her kennel she is stood tail wagging ready to go. As she only has 3 legs she can tire quickly so she will benefit more from more frequent shorter walks so she can keep up.

We feel that Lisa would be best suited to a quieter environment where she can have the time and devotion dedicated to her that she has missed during her life.

We really hope that we can find Lisa her forever home soon so she can start to see all the good things life has to offer, like a sofa and human to call her own.

No cats and no young children.

If you think you can offer LISA the home she so deserves, please contact the kennels on
01299 269 181

Thank you!
